Ralph Noble
Ralph L. Noble, age 84, of Lancaster,
passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at Grant Regional Health Center in
Lancaster. He was born on August 20, 1931, in Lancaster,
the son of George E. and Gertrude B. (Dobson) Noble.
Ralph graduated from Lancaster High School in 1949.
He traveled to Seattle for a short time where he met the love of his
life. On April 19, 1952, Ralph was united in marriage to
Wilma Dalton in Independence, MO. After their marriage,
the couple farmed the family farm. Ralph enjoyed playing
cards, watching football, politics and going to the sale barn.
He dearly loved spending time with his family and keeping up with
their activities. Ralph served as a North Lancaster
Township Chairman for 21 years and served on the Grant County Board for 20
years.
Survivors include his loving wife, Wilma, Lancaster;
their children: David (Dixie) Noble, Lancaster; Jackie
(David) Becwar, Prairie du Chien; Peggy (Herman) Maier, Stitzer; Daniel
(Deb) Noble, Prairie du Chien; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one
great-great grandchild; a sister, Carol (Larry) Jeidy, Fennimore; other
relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death
by a daughter, Bev Schmidt; a grandson, Justin David Noble; nine brothers
and one sister.
A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, June
25, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Youth & Ag Building, Grant
County Fairgrounds. Burial will be at a later date.
Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster is serving
the family.
Sandra Noble
Sandra A. "Sandy" Noble,
age 72, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015, at Atrium Post Acute
Care in Lancaster. She was born on November 14, 1942,
the daughter of Claude and Doris (Knapp) Schmieder. Sandy
graduated from Dubuque Wahlert High School with the first graduating class in
1960. On October 12, 1963, she married Willard J. "Bill"
Noble at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. Sandy was
employed with William C. Brown Publishing and later at John Deere Dubuque
Tractor Works. In her retirement, she was employed with Swiss
Colony in Dickeyville. Sandy was a member of St Clement
Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with her friends playing cards,
gambling, and having a good time. She loved keeping up with
her children and grandchildren and their activities.
Survivors include her daughter, Kimberly (Fred) Mitchell
and their son, Cameron; her sons: Timothy (Susan) and their
daughters, Kendra, Carly, and Cassidy; and Michael (Rhonda) and their children,
Sarah, Samuel, and Nicolas; her siblings: Steve (Anne); Mike
(Peg); Joe Schmieder; Mary (Will) Bonneau; Dan Schmieder; Kathy (Mike) Pueppke;
Nancy (Bob) Stanley; nieces, nephews, and many members of the Noble family.
In addition to her husband, Bill, Sandy was preceded in
death by her parents.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at
10:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Reverend John Sasse
officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery,
Lancaster. Family and friends called on Wednesday, July 8,
2015, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.at St. Clement Catholic Church and from 9:30
a.m. until time of services at the church Thursday morning.
Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster is assisting the family.
In Lieu of plants and flowers, a Sandy Noble Memorial Fund has been
established.
Stanley M. Noble
Stanley M. Noble, age 81, of Lancaster passed away December 20, 2011 at the Lancaster Care Center to take up residency with the heavenly hosts.
Stanley was born February 23, 1930 in Lancaster as one of ten boys and two girls to George and Gertrude (Dobson) Noble. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1949. He married his high school sweetheart Elsie Landon on May 6, 1950. Stanley and Elsie were stewards of God’s earth through the occupation of farming. In 1967 they co-hosted the State Farm Progress Days with his brother Ralph Noble. Stanley later served other farmers by being a co-owner in establishing the former CFN Feeds. He found time to serve the community as a Lancaster School Board member for 12 years. Stanley and Elsie spent 16 years enjoying the winter months in Mesa, Arizona establishing many friendships and cherishing many fond memories.
Stanley loved to compete whether on the athletic field, golf course, playing bean bag, or a friendly game of cards. His love of sports continued after high school refereeing varsity and junior varsity football and basketball games for 27 years. He put the whistle away for a greater love of watching his children and grandchildren participate. He instilled in them to play by the rules of fair competition and to do their best in all facets of life. Stanley was an active member of the Community of Christ Church and his life modeled the teachings of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Elsie, five children, Terry (Kris) Noble, Kristine (Douglas) Wolf, Robert (Diane) Noble, Kathy (Rodney) Vogelsberg, and Douglas (Amy) Noble; fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; a brother Ralph (Wilma) Noble and a sister Carol (Larry) Jeidy; five sister-in-laws, Betty Noble, Mary Noble, Marilyn Noble, Veda Govier, and June (Neil) Larson; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents George and Gertrude Noble; his father and mother-in-law Ray and Neva Landon; eight brothers Al, Ivan, Bert, Willard, Kermit, Lloyd, Floyd, and Elgie; one sister Mildred Bendorf; and two brother-in-laws William Bendorf and Glenn Govier.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2011, at the Community of Christ Church in Lancaster. Burial was at the Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster. Friends called from3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home on Thursday, December 22, 2011, and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, a Stanley M. Noble memorial fund has been established.
Willard Noble
Willard J. “Bill” Noble, age 75, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, IA. He was born December 23, 1938, the son of Willard and Isabel (Bowers) Noble. He graduated from Lancaster High School. On October 12, 1963, he married Sandra A. Schmieder at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. He held various sales positions. Bill was employed by Wilkinson Real Estate & Auction Service at the time of his retirement. He was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sandra; his daughter, Kimberly (Fred) Mitchell and their son, Cameron; his sons: Timothy (Susan) and their daughters, Kendra, Carly, and Cassidy; and Michael (Rhonda) and their children, Sarah, Samuel, and Nicolas; his siblings: Roger (Sheila) Crapp, Virgil (Jean) Cray, Marlene (Richard) Wepking, and Judy Prochaska; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Russell, and his brother-in-law, Tom Prochaska.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church and from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church Wednesday morning. Judith M. Noel
Judith M. Noel, age 61, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, December 15, 2010. She was born on February 10, 1949, the daughter of Lavern and Dorothy (Buss) Noel in Dubuque, IA. Judy graduated from Cassville High School in 1966. She was employed as a Registered Nurse for many years at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster, where she truly made a difference in the lives of the elderly and those with special needs. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, knitting, and crocheting. Judy loved being outdoors tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Judy’s mothering skills went beyond her children. Through the years, Judy has raised and nurtured numerous cats, cherishing their constant companionship.
Survivors include her four children: Adam (Mindy) Markus, Johnson Creek; Luke (Jill) Markus, Madison; Isaac Markus, Minocqua; and Anne (Mark) Nelson, St. Peter, MN; two brothers, Tom (Karen) Noel, DeSoto; John (Deb) Noel, Beetown; her sister, Brenda (Dennis) Watters, Lancaster; her granddaughter, Maggie Markus; brothers-in-law, Donnie Pennekamp, Lancaster; Dennis Caley, Cuba City; nieces, nephews, and many special friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Donald Oates, her son, Jeff, her sisters, Joyce Pennekamp and Suzanne Caley and her brother, Steven Noel.
A Celebration of Judy’s life was held on Sunday, December 19, 2010, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Youth and Agriculture Building in Lancaster. Private family burial will be at a later date. Michael R. Noethe
Michael R. Noethe, age 68, of Patch Grove, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at home. He was born on December 22, 1944 in Prairie du Chien, WI, the son of Edward and Alice (Nies) Noethe. He married Kathleen A. Koschkee on August 20, 1966 at St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church in Mt. Hope, WI. Mike began farming at an early age on the family farm and retired in 2006. After his retirement, he enjoyed working with his son in a custom harvesting business. He was highly regarded by all who knew him. His greatest joys in life were his family; especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and having a good time.
Surviving are his wife, Kathy, of Patch Grove; daughter Kelli (Al) Kruser of Oregon, WI; son Michael Jr. (Paula) Noethe of Bagley, WI; and his five beloved grandchildren: Christopher, Zachary, and McKayla Noethe and Claire and Caiden Kruser. He is further survived by a sister, Cathy (Walt) Horsfall, Harpers Ferry, IA; three brothers: Jim (Nancy) of Princeton, IL, Pat (Susan) of Lake Mills, WI, and Tom (Deb) of St. Bonafacius, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Gerald.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial was in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Patch Grove Township. Family and friends called on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Robert A. Noll
Robert A. Noll, age 78, of Cassville, died on
Survivors include his wife, Karen of Cassville; his five children: Gretchen Noll, Fairfax, VA; Cheri Noll, Mazomanie; Kathy (Tony) Pozorski, Lancaster; Joy (Dennis) Blum, Cassville; Paula Noll, Port Washington; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; an aunt, and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Marian Northouse
Marian Northouse, age 88, of Lancaster, died on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on February 9, 1922, in Manchester, England, the daughter of Robert and Alice (Watson) Atkins. On August 1, 1 945, Marian was united in marriage to Norman Northouse in Manchester, England, and was married for more than fifty-two years. She was an avid reader, loved going to the casinos and was a lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara (Lee) Borah, Cape Girardeau, MO; her grandchildren: Brett (Deborah) McDonald, Racine; Angela McDonald, Beach Park, IL; Michael (Laura) Budd, Vancouver, WA; three great-grandchildren: Jessica and Kristofer McDonald and Emily Budd.
In addition to her parents, Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, daughters, Judith A. Hawkins and Mary Lou Budd, and her son-in-law, Terry Budd.

Hilda V. Novinski
Hilda V. Novinski, age 91, of Lancaster, went to heaven on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home. She was born on October 20, 1920, in Burton, the daughter of Harold and Ida (Reed) Stoney. Hilda was one of six siblings. She was married on Valentine’s Day, to Ferdinand “Mike” Novinski. He preceded her in death on February 13, 1977. Hilda attended Burton Country School. She worked for Parker Pen in Fennimore and Orchard Manor Nursing Home. After her husband’s retirement, they resided for many years at River of Lakes Resort. She enjoyed baking, sewing, and quilting. Hilda was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her two daughters: Connie (William) Murray; Bonnie (Robert) Sutton; eight grandchildren: William (Vicki) Murray, Kelly (Todd) Taylor, Daniel (Laura) Murray, Michael Jerrett, James (Janelle) Murray, John (Debra) Murray, Sheila Murray, and Kim Murray; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a sister, Hilma Donaldson; and a sister-in-law, Melrose Stoney.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Hilda was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Violet (Norm) Peak, LaVerne (Annie) Stoney, Dorothy (Charles) Laugesen, Dale Stoney; a brother-in-law, George Donaldson and her beloved dog, Susie.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster.
